pig dissection

The pig dissection was very interesting. At first it was really gross because it was a real pig. It was a fetus but it was full grown and it looked really cute so I didn't want to cut it up but we had to dissect it. We took out all the organs and separated them. It gave me a chance to see each organ and it was pretty cool. Steve and I named our pig Wilbur. I was sad at the end because he was totally massacred. haha. It was really sad. The video we watched was very informative. I learned a lot about all the systems especially the digestive system. They traced the food from where it enters the mouth all the way through all the digestive organs such as the pharynx where it gets swallowed and into the stomach and gets broken down into bile. Then it goes through the large and small intestine and waste goes into the liver and the pancreas releases juices to break down the food.
